Description

(634) Greetings! I’m the avatar for Sun Vision Medical here to guide you through the new Smart pill dispenser. We’ll discuss its reimbursement process and our efforts to assist pharmacies with its widespread use. Sun Vision will be offering two solutions for the Remote Therapy Monitoring CPT Codes reimbursed by Medicare. The disk shape dispenser is available now and can only be filled by hand. The other pill dispenser offers medication dispensed in packets and is still under development. We  don’t usually discuss premarket products, however because of your interest in the pharmacy market we are sharing with you our new products designed to accommodate the RTM market. The disk pill dispenser will alarm the client through the dispensing unit with voice and lights, and then if the pills were not taken the client will be notified by text and IVR. Then the health cloud will be documented of what pills were taken and at what time. The disk pill dispenser must be filled by hand and is currently available through RSH Distribution center for the general public who want a reminder added to their home monitoring system. In a significant move to enhance patient care, Medicare has recently introduced a new reimbursement code, designated as 98981, specifically for RTM service that encompasses Medication Adherence. This pivotal reimbursement code serves as a cornerstone for facilitating the provision of additional funding to ensure that patients are consistently following the prescribed protocols set forth by their healthcare providers regarding medication intake. The implementation of this code marks a noteworthy advancement in the concerted efforts to augment the efficacy of treatment outcomes by fostering an environment where adherence to medication protocols is closely observed and encouraged. This new RTM code, in conjunction with the disk pill dispenser, can be utilized by pharmacies, to affordably supply customers with their needed medications, for their chronic conditions. However, to supply a large volume of customers the disk must be filled by an automated filling station. As shown, the prototype filling station will hold a large selection of medications and electronically fill the pill dispenser disk! Similar to the pill vials the disk is thrown away when empty and the pharmacy supplies a new disk prefilled at the pharmacy with personalized medication for the patient who suffers from chronic conditions and qualifies for the service. The controlled dispenser unit is designed to be filled by the pharmacy in cellophane packets and placed in a disposable cartridge and then installed into the home dispensing unit by a caregiver. The RTM program offers substantial financial support to pharmacies for providing RTM services to their customers, ultimately saving billions in avoidable emergency hospital visits. Remarkably, half of all emergency visits by individuals aged 65 and older result from incorrect medication usage, either due to taking too much or too little. The pill dispenser can be sold at your pharmacy to cash buyers, or through a prescription from the doctor for the RTM or RPM services. The pharmacy is reimbursed monthly for supplying the client the dispensing unit and paid as normal for supplying the medication.
