Endocrinologist are the low hanging fruit for DME companies to approach for RPM business.  Why? Diabetic supplies are reimbursable by Medicare and others however the glucose meter is only reimbursed each five years. By signing up the endo’s diabetic patients to the RPM program opens up a new profit center for the doctor and the DME supplier plus the patient can benefit from cellular connectivity to seamlessly upload their test results.  The doctor can bill for CPT Code 99454 for the technical and also 99457 for clinical. The DME company can offer to supply the required services and equipment to the doctor patients needed to qualify for RPM. That includes the Smart Health Glucose Meter that is supplied through RPM.  And a Cellular gateway designed to gather the glucose meter test results and other SunVision products and upload them seamlessly to the health cloud. And a health watch that will gather seven additional health vitals offering additional information about the patients life. If the doctor chooses to have all the work outsourced through the DME company their wont be any additional work load or out of pocket expense.  The equipment and services are rented to the DME at $40 per month from SunVision that includes the registered nurse and if the service cancels the equipment is not returned or charged for. The doctor is billed $65.00 per month from the DME company for the same services and the doctor will be reimbursed handsomely from Medicare.  Question? Does the patient need to change glucose meters if they don’t want to? No We can add any glucose meter to the gateway with a little cooperation from the manufacturer and enable the other meter test results to upload cellularly. How about CGM products can they connect to the cellular gateway. Yes SunVision currently communicates with Dexcom CGM and can also communicate with the other shown products.
